Here’s an easy way to prepare a low sodium turkey dinner for Thanksgiving. We cooked this turkey crock pot recipe in a medium-sized crockpot with great results. We guarantee you will not have a dry bird at the table if you follow this crockpot recipe. One of the challenges we faced was actually finding a turkey breast that fit into the crock pot. If the breast doesn’t exactly fit entirely into the crock pot, you can cover the top of the bird with metal foil and it will cook just fine.

Turkey is one of the best foods naturally low in sodium. If you buy a frozen turkey breast, let this low sodium frozen meal thaw slowly in the refrigerator for two days prior to cooking. A 7-9 pound turkey breast will have a cooking time of about 8-10 hours in a crock pot, so plan on starting early to plan this meal.
